"Sound" Judgement leads to Pic Deal between Invictus, Waltzer (June 8, 2005)

Philadelphia based production company Invictus Films recently completed negotiations for rights to "Sound Of Mind", a thriller by area writer James Waltzer, which will be published in Europe next year by Edition Payot et Rivages, the european publishers of James Ellroy’s (L.A. Confidential, The Black Dahlia) novels. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The story takes place in the Philadelphia area, and Invictus Films’ President Alexander Emmert announced Wednesday that filming will commence in the City of Brotherly Love in Spring 2006. Waltzer will adapt from his novel, and Emmert is tentatively slated to helm the project.

"We are very pleased to bring a local writer’s work into our locally based production model" said Emmert, who hinted that acquisition of another book of local interest may be on the horizon. "This project affirms our commitment to Philadelphia and the film community here".
